FLORES LYFE
Hi dear readers,
as i promised you guys earlier that starting over this blog is one of my 2018 goals, so i have to encourage myself to write more, to tell the story better, to express the emotion through words and photos. Well, tbh I wasn't so sure to restart this blogging things at first, since you guys already knew that nowadays people tends to make a vlog instead of the old prototype blog. But fyi, i'm not a front camera person and never in my mind has an idea to make a vlog.
The idea of starting to write again comes from the reality that i'm a major introvert who loves to enjoy my solitude, my time for wondering, pondering, and writing each thing that jumped out of my mind. I'm a typical of old-fashioned person who writes the journal each day and i find myself loves that kind of writing from the random things to the super complicated idea. I dare myself this year to read and write more.
So basically, this blog is a wider blank page for me to fill in, to write, to draw my stories, and i got nothing to expect that anybody would like to follow my stories or to be inspired by my common stories. Just in case somebody do visit my blog and find a word or a picture that surprisingly brighten up their day, i will be very grateful for it! So why not for the idea of starting all over again :) Sharing means caring rite? ehehehe.
So without any further babling, let's jump right into my story. Just so you know, i'm currently living in Ende, a little city in Flores Island, East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia. If you're wondering where the hell is Ende, you could imagine it by this illustration :

This is actually the whole region of East Nusa Tenggara Province, Indonesia. I luckily got a chance to spend a year in Flores Island, one of the many islands in this province.

now let's zoom in to flores island. Have you ever heard about Komodo? Labuan Bajo? Padar Island? Yess, those are few of the top destinations in Indonesia, and those marvelous things take place in Flores island. Flores is not only well known by those things but moreover, Flores is literally a wonderful gifted islands. It extends from Labuanbajo, the west side of flores to Larantuka, the east side of flores. Now you probably imagine where do i live? I live in the center of Flores Island, another beautiful region we call it "Ende". It is 430 km away from Labuanbajo, approximately 10 hours by car or 40 minutes by plane from Labuanbajo to reach Ende.
Why am i here? What am i up to here in this little region?
I am currently spend my one year journey as a general practitioner. We have to complete this one year experience before legally receive the license to freely work and practice in Indonesia.
I feel so grateful for hopping to east nusa tenggara, though i'm still on my way to complete a year here, but i thank God for this opportunity because this is exactly what i've been praying for a long time. Serving the people in east Indonesia is one of my dream.
It's been 7 months here in Flores, there were a lot of things i thanked God for trusting myself to experience it. A LOT things literally. Thank God! Not only for the medical experiences but more of it, the life experiences, the chance of getting into a whole new tradition, culture, and most of it for experiencing the wonderful nature of East Nusa Tenggara, which i never thought it would be that wonderful, marvelous, and surreal. Yes, only those who happened to live in East Nusa Tenggara could describe the details of the beauty and treasure this island has got to offer.
7 months living in Ende didn't always put those happiness, there were also some moments of sadness which i really cherished and also be grateful for. Living away from my family and the comfort zones was really not easy, but the lesson i got from it is worth the 4000kms away the distance that separating me from my family. hehehe.
So this is just an introduction to my flores lyfe's story, be prepare for the story and pictures that i will share to you in the next posts. hehehe.
Cheers!
